Emily Liles has spent more than two decades building a life in Grand Prairie and years serving local schools, families and the community before joining the GPISD Board of Trustees.
This community is home.
For Emily, public education has never been an abstract issue. It is personal, local and deeply connected to the future of Grand Prairie.
Emily and her family have called Grand Prairie home for more than twenty years. Her involvement in GPISD began as a parent and volunteer, where she saw firsthand the impact strong schools, engaged families and dedicated educators can have on students.
Over the years, Emily became increasingly involved throughout the district and community, serving through PTA, district committees, community organizations and other efforts focused on strengthening Grand Prairie schools.
Service came before politics.
Long before running for the Board of Trustees, Emily was already working alongside parents, educators and community leaders to strengthen GPISD.
Parent & Volunteer
Emily's involvement began where many parents begin: showing up, volunteering and working directly with schools and families.
District & Community Service
She went on to serve through PTA, district committees, community organizations and initiatives focused on GPISD students and families.
Board of Trustees
In 2019, Grand Prairie voters elected Emily to represent Place 6 on the GPISD Board of Trustees.

Emily believes the work of a school board trustee is ultimately about stewardship: protecting public resources, supporting educators, keeping students safe and making decisions that prepare GPISD for the future.
Her approach is grounded in listening, asking questions and remaining accessible to the families and taxpayers she serves.
